Non-Destructive Testing - NDT
Alstern provides Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services to inspect pipeline corrosion, weld integrity, and internal flow conditions. We utilise advanced techniques such as Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Radiographic X-ray Testing, and Ultrasonic Flow Measurement to accurately assess the condition of critical infrastructure.
Based on the collected data, our experts develop comprehensive repair and protection solutions tailored to each site. These solutions are designed to extend the operational life of pipelines and materials, ensuring safety, compliance, and long-term performance.
Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement
- Inspect the metal thickness of pipe and structural steel to monitor corrosion and damage.
- Routine inspection is vital for ensuring the continued safety of operations and for facilitating repair works.
Magnetic Particle Inspection / Radiographic X-ray Test
- A nondestructive test for detecting surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic pipes by applying magnetic particles that gather at flaw locations under a magnetic field.
- A nondestructive test using X-rays to capture images of a pipe’s internal structure, revealing internal defects like cracks and corrosion in welds and pipe walls.
Ultrasonic Flow Measurement
- Sound wave method to measure a fast the fluid is moving for water and other mediums.
- This is a high accuracy NDT meter for both slow and fast medium flows without cutting pipes or shutting down the operation.
