Technical Challenges
Client requested for live leak repair for a compressed air pipe with multiple leaks on a heavily corroded carbon steel pipe. Additionally, reinforcement was needed for 4 metres of pipe segment.

Technical Solutions
ALSTERN’s live leak repair team responded to the compressed air leak using C-SMARTSEAL Composite Repair Products.

SMARTSTIC Steel Epoxy Stick was used to seal the leak location. WRAP-PRO Stainless Steel Pipe Clip and GI Sheets were used to reinforce the leak area. QUIKCONTROL Fiberglass Repair Tape was wrapped to reinforce the area and build strength to the corroded pipe location.

To enhance pipe life, FIX ‘N’ FAST BOND Liquid Repair Putty was applied, and new fabricated supports were installed.
